The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, announced on Monday that the state government will ensure effective coordination with the armed forces and collaborate closely with them.
This statement was made during a meeting with senior officials from the armed forces and representatives from key agencies, held in light of the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict.
According to an official statement, the meeting focused on the exchange of intelligence data, the effective use of technology, and the implementation of precautionary measures. Discussions also included establishing a coordination mechanism for collaboration between security agencies and the government.
The Chief Minister praised the armed forces for their unmatched strength and precision in executing 'Operation Sindoor'. He remarked, 'I salute the armed forces. Mumbai is extremely significant as it serves as the financial capital of the state. Sharing intelligence will be crucial, and we must exercise adequate caution regarding cybersecurity.'
Attendees of the meeting included Lieutenant General Pawan Chaddha, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Indian Army for the Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa region; Rear Admiral Anil Jaggi, Flag Officer Commanding (Maharashtra Naval Area); Air Vice Marshal Rajat Mohan from the Indian Air Force (IAF); representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Home Guards.
Also present were Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, and other relevant officials.
